Project background

Litespace is an HR software that connects employees in hybrid workplaces by improving employee engagement, strengthening corporate culture, and boosting productivity.

My role

I was tasked with redesigning the schedule page of this Web App to incorporate new features and design an AI that will recommend optimal work schedules, and incorporate our new branding.

Challenge

How might we help our users optimize their hybrid work schedules and assist the HR team in gaining visibility into office space utilization?

Here I utilized my expertise in user-centric design and collaborated with stakeholders to ensure my concept sketches aligned with their go-to-market strategy, business goals, and were technically feasible.

Challenges And Solutions

Challenge #1 reducing areas of user confusion

During discussions with the sales team, we discovered that 40% of users found it confusing to have the recommended schedule separated from their schedule and did not use it.

Solution #1 restructuring the layout

By changing the layout of this page to display the AI recommended statuses beside the user's set status, 93% of users could easily understand and utilized the recommended statuses.

Challenge #2 accurately documenting office attendance

Stakeholder discussions with our customer success team alerted us that users reported discrepancies between the office attendance metric in our Reporting page and actual office attendance.

Solution #2 addition of a check-in feature

Requiring users to check-in upon arrival at the office allowed us to improve the accuracy of our Reporting analytics, increase compliance with covid-19 capacity restrictions, and provide cost-saving insights to our users' HR teams.

Challenge #3 optimize the information distribution

During user testing we discovered that 35% of users felt overwhelmed by the amount of information on this page.

Solution #3 revamp the page layout

By focusing on enhancing design elements such as visual hierarchy, balance, and colour, 78% of users found the information on this page to be well organized and easily digestible.

Mobile Design

Once we finalized the high-fidelity screens, we created mobile screens to ensure a responsive design implementation. This helped the development team adapt the design across various devices.
